PostHeaderIcon Online Poker Australia

Online poker in Australia took a huge step forward in 2005 when Joseph Hachem won the biggest poker tournament in the world.  While Chris Moneymaker’s win 2 years before thrust poker into the world spotlight, Joe brought the game home to Australia and is responsible for the explosion in popularity in that country.

If you are looking for the best place to play online poker in Australia, you have tons of choices, but you really should focus on the main sites.  There may be some great deals and incentives to play at a small online poker site, but in the long run you will have a lot of problems.

First, it can be hard to get a game.  There is nothing worse than being ready to play poker and have to wait 30 mintues for a table to open up or a sit and go tournament to start.  Well, now that I think about it, there is something worse: signing up for a scheduled tournament only to have the tournament cancelled because not enough people signed up for it.

Another problem with small online poker sites in Australia and everywhere is that they may go out of business.  Usually this will be nothing more than having your account moved to another site or your money sent back to you, but it has been known to happen that a small online poker site goes out of business and everybody that has money deposited loses the money they have on deposit.  Even if the site stays in business, there can be delays in payment, system crashes, and other difficulties because the small sites simply don’t have the same resources that the big companies do.

A lot of poker sites are blocked or won't allow US players. You can make it seem that you are logged in in Europe and use a service like Moneybookers to pay. See the blog link below.

PostHeaderIcon Real Money Online Poker in US?

Are there any sites where you can still deposit money and play poker for real money? I've been trying to find out but I cannot find any recent info. I had an old account on Pacific Poker with money in it, but I tried registering for a tournament and said I wasn't allowed to because of what country I live in. Then I tried Full Tilt Poker, because I heard that worked, and there is no tab for real money and i think it might be because its illegal in the US.

Anyone know how I can play?

first thing first, online poker is not illegal!

And you can still deposit and withdrawl an several site. You need to use Epassporte it's the best for US players.

I suggest you full tilt, poker stars, absolute poker, ultimate bet.

I personally play online between 20 to 70 hours a week.

Take care

PostHeaderIcon Why can't I play online poker for real money?

I live in Illinois, and use Full Tilt and PokerStars yet neither one even gives me the options to transfer funds to my account, what is the deal with that? People have said that Full tilt and poker stars still allow US players, to play for money, but like I said It doesnt even give me the option to upload or transfer funds to my account

I think you are missing something. I don't believe that these sites are both detecting the state you live in and blocking you.

So first off, are you playing .com or .net. If you are on .net, it's only a play money site. So download the .com and then go to cashier, the options will be there. See the link for some deposit bonuses too.

Next get an account with epassporte.com and use that to transfer money in and out. Or another way is to buy a Visa gift card from a store like Walgreens.

PostHeaderIcon where can i play poker online with real money in canada?

i dont have credit card or paypal
just a debit card, any ways i can transfer money?

I would recommend any of the sites listed at http://dagus-statistics.com/reviews.htm where each of the sites is known for stellar reputation and fast payouts. You'll also find bonus codes to each site's best current bonus.

If you're Canadian, your debit card might work on a poker site. It all depends on your bank's filter. If you find it not working, you could always sign up for an ePassporte account, which most popular poker sites accept. Or you can also try a prepaid Visa Gift Card. But choose wisely. In the States, Visa Vanilla and Green Dot cards do not work, and Visa All Access Gift Cards DO work. There might be other cards to choose from, but I know sometimes similar regulations are applied to Canadian products, as well.

Just check the site listed above, navigate around and you'll get a good idea how you can play for real money. Be sure to check the bonus codes, you don't want to miss out on free money! Hope this helps.

PostHeaderIcon Is online poker for real money illegal in Georgia?

Some people say its illegal some people say its legal, what are the facts?!?!?!

Very powerful groups are fighting to keep this question grey. Here's some observations, and see the link below for others. 1) No local authority I've heard of is arresting anyone for playing poker or other gambling online.

2) Federal law past 2 yrs ago made it more difficult for banks to fund gambling sites, and good luck going to the courts if you ever have a dispute about getting paid. There has been no enforcement of this law, but it hs made maor banks and credit card companies pull out of diretly funding internet gaming accounts. Of couse, that is also due to the risk involved for them.

3) Personally, I found internet poker very addictive and stopped when the law changed as noted above, but lots of friends still play and get paid, as far as I know.

PostHeaderIcon Is it legal in Texas to play for real money on an online poker site?

I live in Texas and wanted to start gambling on Full Tilt poker. I just need to know whether its legal. I have some friends that play, but I'm still unsure about it.

It's not illegal to bet online with an online gaming site! There is NO federal law that makes the act of wagering online illegal. The only federal law that addresses gambling is the wire act from the 1960's which makes it illegal to place wagers via the telephone. The US government passed a port security law and tacked on provisions (UIGEA) that make it illegal for BANKS, not players, to fund or accept payment from gaming sources. The only problem (for the govt) is that there are dozens of third party methods available for funding and no way to trace ACH credits. The UIGEA also refers to "illegal internet gambling", but fails to define what illegal internet gambling is! In other words, the new provisions are only for show and the end result is a waste of ink. I still use my VISA check card and e-check on my favorite sites. Online gaming will be impossible to completely eliminate from the US. The best they can do is make it inconvenient by scarring the banking system into becoming a law enforcement agency. This doesn't and will never work. Eventually I see the industry being regulated and taxed.

The only states with laws directed towards online wagering are Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana, Nevada, New York, New Jersey and South Dakota. Although these states do have specific laws pertaining to online gaming, there has not been any charges laid, and they are being challenged.

While there have been a few arrests in the online gaming management world, all of the instances are for accepting action from American residents WHILE their companies were based ON US soil! There has never been a charge laid for 'Internet Gambling'…it's always money laundering…tax evasion…or some other unrelated charge.

NO PLAYER HAS OR EVER WILL BE CHARGED FOR ONLINE GAMBLING UNDER THE CURRENT LAWS!!! Wagers placed online occur on a server in another country as long as you are using an offshore site, then that site is not committing any infraction of US law.

Some sites have decided, on their own, to no longer accept American players. These sites are spineless and have chosen the path of least resistance, many to their demise. %80 of online gaming revenue is generated by the USA! There are still many highly reputable sites that welcome and cater to American clients.
I have wagered online for years and make good money betting on sports and playing poker. You can get free poker tips from the pros, articles, free daily sports picks, betting tips, sports betting stats and reviews of only highly reputable gaming sites at http://GamblingReviewsSite.com
The recommended sites all offer top customer service, security, and fast/free payouts. They also cater to American clients with great bonuses, e-check deposits, and other promotions.

PostHeaderIcon How old do you need to be to play online poker with real money?

You can play at any age as long you never cash out or try and deposit money. Because in order to sign up at a poker site they will often ask your date of birth. If you say you are 18 you can sign up but I imagine you will have problems once you try and cash out your winnings or put money in your account. But I am sure there are ways around this! Like cheques or having someone in your family sign up for you. Anyways there are ways to build a bankroll for free. Just read this free e-book…http://www.winpokercash.com/poker-products/books
